We care for 170 children who have been removed from the custody of their parents due to neglect and/or abuse and placed legally in the care of the children's home. We have a vision that children may be cared for to become happy, healthy and well-disciplined members of the community taking the needs of others into account. Abraham Kriel Children’s Home, Nylstroom, has a mission that children of all denominations should be cared for according to the holistic approach, taking the constitution of the country into account so that the physical, religious, educational, welfare, and social needs of the children may be met.

Abraham Kriel Children's Home Nylstroom's first and primary priority is to meet the children's physical needs like food, clothing, toiletries and electricity.
The unit cost per child is R6600 per month. This is the total expense of the children's home divided by the number of children, which includes food, clothing, toiletries, water and electricity, cleaning materials, medical care, transport, maintenance of the buildings and terrain, salaries, etc.
